The BERNARD Gruppe is putting the permanent automated monitoring system on the A10 Tauern motorway bridge over the Steinbrückenbach into operation. Strain gauges and temperature measurements will be used to determine the deformation behavior.
The Steinbrückenbach bridge on the A10 Tauern motorway is a steel composite bridge. It is planned to remove the two separate supporting structures and replace each with a prestressed concrete structure.
In the first construction phase, the existing supporting structure of the Salzburg-direction motorway lanes will be upgraded to temporarily provide two lanes in each direction during the construction of the opposite direction’s motorway lanes. A system for the permanent monitoring of the deformation behavior is used to ensure the operation of the motorway.
The BERNARD Gruppe has been commissioned to install and operate the monitoring system. Continuous monitoring of the existing structure will be carried out using strain gauges and temperature sensors. In this way, any unscheduled deformations or overloads can be detected at an early stage and countermeasures can be taken.
