The BERNARD Gruppe can look back on multiple achievements and project highlights. We would like to thank our clients, partners and employees for the trust they have placed in us and send our best wishes for a happy, healthy and successful New Year 2024!

In 2023, the BERNARD Gruppe was working on exciting projects in a wide range of engineering disciplines. You can find selected highlights of our Business Units here:

Energy

In 2023, we were able to win contracts for grid expansion from all four major energy suppliers – Amprion, Tennet, TransnetBW and 50Hertz. In this way, we as Engineers you can trust contribute to the energy transition in a comprehensive and reliable manner. We have also worked on forward-looking projects in the important field of hydrogen, in which we have been able to bring our more than twenty years of experience into the design of hydrogen production facilities.

Industry

We further expanded our portfolio of in-house developed products in 2023: With the BERNARD Air Analyser (BAA), we facilitate real-time monitoring of air pollutants. The BERNARD Character Analyser allows license plate numbers to be recorded in order to obtain anonymized information about source, destination and transit traffic. The BERNARD Intersection Analyser (BIA) uses the established BERNARD Mobility Analyser in combination with LIDAR sensors to increase road safety at conflict points. With the BERNARD Mobility Controller (BMC), we provide a control unit for the BERNARD sensor system. In addition, the BMA was used in numerous projects to collect reliable basic data.

Infrastructure

The application and continuous expansion of our expertise in Building Information Modeling (BIM) was one of the core priorities of our Infrastructure Business Unit. The modern method has already been used in many projects. We are also delighted to have received the VCÖ Mobility Award, Austria’s largest competition for sustainable transport and mobility, for the Lienz railroad station modernization in collaboration with ostertag Architects.

Mobility

Finally, we were working on many interesting projects in the various fields of our Mobility Business Unit. Particularly noteworthy is the BERNARD Geobased Citizen Questionnaire, a web-based application that makes stakeholder management and participation even more efficient and further advances digitalization. This modern form of public participation was used, for example, in surveys on mobility behavior, to identify deficiencies in existing routes, and to define alignments.
