Together with ostertag ARCHITECTS, the BERNARD Gruppe planned the complete reconstruction of Lienz railway station on behalf of ÖBB Infrastruktur AG. The project was decorated with the VCÖ Mobility Award, Austria’s largest competition for sustainable transport and mobility, and the award ceremony has just taken place in Vienna.
The Lienz railway station was expanded and revitalized into a barrier-free mobility center between 2019 and 2022. While ostertag ARCHITECTS carried out the entire architectural design, the BERNARD Gruppe provided the structural analysis and design for the reconstruction of the reception building, the new construction of the local supply building, the roofing of platforms and bus platforms, as well as for the elevator enclosures.
The motto of the VCÖ Mobility Award 2023 was “Shaping the future now!” and we are pleased that we were able to successfully work on this multi-award-winning project together with ostertag ARCHITECTS.
