The BERNARD Gruppe has been commissioned to prepare a capacity analysis for the introduction of a mass transportation system.

In this project, the BERNARD Gruppe is examining whether a streetcar (“tramway”) or a higher-quality bus system (“busway”) is preferable as a future mass transportation system for Ingolstadt. Initial results have shown that both systems have positive traffic impacts and are feasible. Expected travel demand, technical and structural feasibility, and expected rough costs are currently being studied in depth. In particular, the introduction of a new public transport system is intended to meet the increasing demands for climate-friendly and environmentally friendly mobility.
