Tunnel breakthrough in Nowshera project

The BERNARD Gruppe undertakes the site supervision for the Nowshera tunnel project in India as lead partner in a joint venture. In this project, an important milestone was reached at the end of January with the tunnel breakthrough.

The Nowshera tunnel has a total length of 700 m and is of strategic importance for the region. The tunnel will significantly reduce the distance between the districts of Jammu and Poonch. Designed as a bi-directional tunnel, it is part of an important infrastructure project, the national highway 144-A. The highway is intended to help improve connectivity and accessibility in the region.

The tunnel breakthrough was honored with an official ceremony. Completion of the tunnel is planned for the middle of the year.
