In order to ensure the safety of road users and civil engineering structures, the entire road network is regularly inspected. Any kind of natural hazards such as torrent, rockfall, avalanche and mass movement are investigated.
The investigations result in a natural hazard risk map. In this map, the degree of risk potential is assessed for each hazardous point, taking into account the existing protective measures. Protection deficits are identified, the measures to be implemented are prioritized, and recommendations of additional protection measures can be made.
In the course of the design phases, the exact scope of construction activities is evaluated and presented.
For the S16 Arlberg expressway, 12 precise protection measures have been defined on Tyrolean territory, which will be implemented in 2022.
During the realization of these construction works, the BERNARD Gruppe will be in charge of local site supervision and construction site occupational health and safety.
