The BERNARD Gruppe has taken charge of the planning and realization of traffic surveys for the city of Mönchengladbach in 2025. The aim of the project was to record current traffic flows as a basis for future mobility and infrastructure measures.

In September 2025, a total of 70 intersections with different geometric and traffic requirements were examined. The surveys, which were carried out using the BERNARD Mobility Analyser over a 24-hour period, covered all modes of transport – from pedestrians and cyclists to buses, trucks and cars. The detailed evaluation at 15-minute intervals provided a comprehensive picture of the actual traffic situation. The BERNARD Gruppe uses modern, data protection-compliant processes. The data collected was processed and transferred directly into the municipal system, providing the city with a data basis for well-founded decisions in traffic control and urban planning. With our experience in the collection and analysis of traffic data, the BERNARD Gruppe has made an important contribution to efficient, safe and sustainable mobility in Mönchengladbach.
