The BERNARD Gruppe was commissioned to develop a mobility concept with a traffic study for the planned Leverkusen Mitte station district. The aim is to develop future-proof and sustainable mobility solutions for an urban neighborhood.
The concept focuses on strategies to promote eco-mobility – in particular cycling and walking, sharing services and electromobility. The focus here is on a specific catalog of measures that is adapted to the needs of the user groups in the neighborhood. In addition, the expected new traffic and parking space requirements for cars and bicycles will be determined, potential for reduction assessed and existing infrastructure examined for possible uses. Based on comprehensive analyses, site inspections and a structured user analysis, the BERNARD Gruppe is developing practical fields of action. These will be specified in close coordination with Leverkusener Immobiliengesellschaft mbH (LEVI) and other project participants. Among other things, recommendations are planned for the design of bicycle parking facilities, bike-sharing stations, car-sharing services and charging infrastructure for electric mobility. In addition, organizational measures such as company mobility management or other services for the neighbourhood are being considered. The mobility is contributing to the attractiveness of the station district, an also meeting the requirements of sustainable urban development. With a clearly structured catalog of measures, the BERNARD Gruppe creates the basis for well-founded decisions in the further planning process.
