The BERNARD Gruppe is supporting the renovation and modernization of two important narrow-gauge railway lines in Lower Austria. Our experts are providing comprehensive planning services for the Mariazellerbahn and the Citybahn Waidhofen to ensure a future-proof and efficient infrastructure.

The focus for three sections along the Mariazellerbahn is on laying new track, renovating the substructure and drainage, constructing new cable routes and overhead line mast foundations, renovating railroad crossings and civil engineering structures. The Loich stop on the Mariazell line is being redesigned. On the Citybahn Waidhofen in Waidhofen an der Ybbs, a section-by-section modernization is planned in the area of the Schillerpark stop. The measures make an important contribution to the attractiveness of local public transport and to long-term operational safety. The BERNARD Gruppe is responsible for the alignment planning for the narrow gauge, the railroad design including tender documents as well as the planning coordination. In addition, support is provided in structural engineering for structures such as culverts, walls, bridges and tunnels. The planning services are supported by careful construction preparation and appropriate coordination to enable efficient implementation. Particular attention is paid to quality assurance, safe construction and sustainable implementation. Clear processes, interdisciplinary cooperation and the integration of safety and environmental aspects exemplify the high standards of the BERNARD Gruppe. With this project, the BERNARD Gruppe is strengthening its many years of expertise in railroad construction and making a significant contribution to the further development of the regional rail infrastructure in Lower Austria.
