An automated, permanent monitoring system was installed on the Steinbrückenbach Bridge on the A 10 Tauern Motorway due to its critical structural condition and 4+0 traffic management. A high-frequency real-time measurement system uses strain gauges and temperature sensors to monitor the structural behavior of the steel composite structure under ongoing traffic. The measurement data is continuously evaluated and secured via a multi-stage, dynamic alarm system with optical signaling. During a longer lifting phase, radio-based inclination sensors were also used to continuously monitor the position of the lifted structure.
