Two approaches are available for parking garages, barrier systems or open areas: tracking via vehicle entries and exits or individual parking space detection. During tracking, arrivals and departures are recorded; this results in current occupancy data – low on hardware and scalable. The individual parking space detection shows the status “free/occupied” per parking space and allows the monitoring of special areas (e.g. loading bays) without calibration of reconciled entry/exit data. ANPR supplements access, authorisation checks and parking duration workflows – as plain text or data protection-oriented pseudonymisation, depending on requirements.
