Our Data Acquisition & Control department is the technical centrepiece for precise surveys, reliable analyses and data-based decision-making – especially for cities, municipalities and public clients. With innovative sensor technology and in-depth engineering know-how, we support you in making traffic situations measurable, understandable and usable – from single traffic volume counts to complex turning movement counts.

As part of the BERNARD Gruppe, an internationally active engineering office with the mission statement “Engineers you can trust”, we combine metrological expertise with state-of-the-art hardware and software development. Our focus is on methods that are not only technically highly reliable, but also data protection compliant and suitable for long-term use.

Measurement technology services

  • Automated traffic surveys: We use optical and AI-based sensors to record road users smoothly and anonymously – as a temporary measurement device or permanent installation. The data is recorded and classified directly on site, without storing any personal data.

  • Traffic volume and intersection traffic counts: We measure traffic volumes, traffic types and traffic flow at defined road sections or intersections, differentiated by directional movement and traffic class – the basis for signal optimisation, transport planning and impact analyses.

  • Traffic flow analyses: Several measuring points are linked to networked flow information and travel times – with findings on origin and destination traffic, modal share and regional shifts.

  • Integration and analysis: Our in-house developed dashboards and data platforms clearly present measurement results – Daily traffic graphs, traffic flow diagrams and trend-based analyses support the planning, operation and proof of effectiveness.
