The city of Aalen is laying the requirements for the demand-oriented expansion of the passengercar charging infrastructure. To this end, a comprehensive survey of existing conditions within the urban area is being carried out. The BERNARD Gruppe is responsible for conducting the survey and processing the data.
As part of the project, public car parks, marked parking spaces at the roadside and larger, publicly accessible private car parks are being recorded. The aim is to create a reliable data foundation for all design phases. First, the relevant areas are identified and preliminarily assessed using digital orthophotos. This is followed by on-site recording of the parking spaces, during which both the number of spaces and their condition are documented. The BERNARD Gruppe is using digital tools for data collection, enabling the information to be transferred directly into the city’s geographic information system. Once the surveys are complete, the data will be checked, processed and made available for further use. The systematic mapping of existing car parks provides the city of Aalen with a basis for all design phases related to mobility and charging infrastructure.
