With the completion of Bozner Platz, a central urban space in Innsbruck has been comprehensively redesigned. Its transformation into a shared space enhances the quality of the environment for visitors, improves the usability of the public space and strengthens the square’s function as an urban meeting place.

In the course of the construction work, the square was given a new surface design. In addition, seating, drinking fountains, new green spaces and tree planting were installed. Extensive utility works secured the existing infrastructure and laid the groundwork for future requirements. Another priority was on the implementation of the ‘sponge city’ principle, which supports the sustainable management of stormwater and contributes to climate-resilient urban development. As part of the project, the BERNARD Gruppe was commissioned to provide local construction supervision, specifically technical and financial monitoring during construction. The services included the ongoing monitoring of construction work to ensure compliance with the contract and plans, the coordination of the specialist services involved, and cost control. Through continuous supervision of all Construction Stages, the measures were implemented to a high standard of quality and on schedule. With the completion of the works, Innsbruck gains a redesigned urban space that combines functionality, sustainability and a high quality of life, creating long-term added value for inhabitants and visitors alike.
