The Streetcar west tangent is a new, approximately eight-kilometre-long railway line being built in the west of Munich, which will efficiently connect five city districts and create key interchange points with the existing public transport network. The opening of the first section marks a significant milestone and demonstrates the effectiveness of the planned construction and traffic management arrangements.
The BERNARD Gruppe is responsible for all design phases related to the construction stages and temporary traffic management, which is continuously adapted to the dynamic progress of the works. The focus is on developing a comprehensive concept for the execution of the works. This includes the development and approval of over 1,200 traffic sign plans to date for individual construction and substructure stages, as well as the organisation of complex traffic assignments in an urban environment. In addition, more than 20 temporary and permanent traffic lights are managed, and over 120 signal programmes have been developed to date, which are adapted as construction progresses.
