With the upgrade of district road 11 in Velbert, Germany, a central traffic link between Langenberg and Neviges is being comprehensively modernised. The aim is to sustainably improve the structural condition of the road and, at the same time, ensure efficient and compliant drainage. The route alignment will remain largely unchanged, with targeted improvements to increase traffic safety and quality of use.
The BERNARD Gruppe is providing planning services for transport infrastructure. The services include the development and elaboration of the variants, the preparation of the design and tender documents, the support of the approval procedure and the monitoring of construction works, including site supervision. The task will be supplemented by close coordination with utility providers and the integration of their drawings into the overall process. A particular focus will be on the reorganisation of the drainage system. Existing discharges will be replaced by suitable measures in order to meet the requirements of the current state of the art and to ensure the long-term protection of water bodies. At the same time, the project will be accompanied by a structured information process to ensure the involvement of the public and local residents. This measure will create a modern, functional road infrastructure that will reliably carry regional traffic.
