With the official start of construction in May 2025, the foundation stone was laid for a technically challenging infrastructure project: the removal and new construction of a motorway bridge on the A13 over the Sill Gorge near Innsbruck. The BERNARD Gruppe has assumed a central role in coordination, monitoring and quality assurance.
On the A13 over the Sill Gorge near Innsbruck, a new motorway bridge is being built. The Sill Bridge II is being replaced while the road is still in operation. In a joint venture with ZETCON Ingenieure, the BERNARD Gruppe has a central role in the coordination, monitoring and quality assurance and is accompanying the project as local construction supervisor right from the start. The focus of the work is on the construction of the foundations for the new bridge piers with heights of up to 25 meters as well as the new construction of the abutments. At the same time, all construction roads were laid out in several stages and sustainably secured with extensive shotcrete measures. The shell of the new water protection system is already well advanced. At the moment, the main focus is on the construction of a transfer track for an up to 70-meter-high and around 100-meter-span arched structure over the Sill Gorge. This scaffolding is used both for the demolition of the existing arch and as a formwork structure for the new construction of the future bridge arch. It places the highest demands on design, logistics and construction supervision.
