Bicycle highway systems have become a great hope in transport and environmental policy. The most important improvements to be expected are the reduction of CO2 emissions, congestion avoidance and positive effects on health.

The RS 9 is intended to create an efficient, convenient connection between Baindt and Friedrichshafen. For the section between Baindt and Weingarten, which is under the state of Baden-Württemberg’s construction responsibility, the BERNARD Gruppe is now preparing the preliminary design (according to the German fee structure HOAI).

The route was already identified as a preferred route variant in 2019 in the course of a feasibility study by the BERNARD Gruppe (as part of a joint venture), and its technical and economic feasibility was demonstrated. The aim of the preliminary design is to create a sound basis for further planning and expansion. Rapid processing of the tasks will be possible, but at the same time it will be required to ensure a particularly careful coordination with all parties involved, and a forward-looking monitoring of the further course of the project.

The BERNARD Gruppe is contributing its many years of experience in the development of sustainable infrastructure solutions – with the aim of creating a reliable framework for implementation together with local authorities. The project is scheduled for completion in 2025.

Bicycle highways such as the RS 9 make an important contribution to environmentally friendly mobility and create attractive alternatives for commuting to work, school or for leisure. The BERNARD Gruppe is accompanying this change with well thought-out solutions and trustworthiness.
