The increasing frequency and intensity of heavy rainfall events poses considerable challenges for water management and infrastructure. The BERNARD Gruppe meets these challenges with integrated heavy rainfall and flood protection concepts that closely interlink hydraulic engineering, hydrological and geotechnical specialist services.

We carry out comprehensive hydrological and hydraulic modeling to develop precise forecasts for heavy rainfall events and their impacts. Local topographical conditions are taken into account in detail so that targeted measures such as retention basins, retention areas or protective structures can be optimally dimensioned.

Another focus of our planning activities is detailed risk analysis, which includes not only flooding caused by heavy rainfall but also debris flows and other gravitational natural hazards. Our interdisciplinary approach enables us to develop customized protective measures that meet both structural and ecological requirements.

The BERNARD Gruppe also attaches great importance to a holistic view of the water cycle. Our integrative approach ensures the sustainable, economically efficient and environmentally friendly implementation of measures that contribute to the long-term stability and safety of infrastructure and settlement areas.
