The BERNARD Gruppe was commissioned with the environmental construction monitoring, landscape conservation planning, and local site supervision of the landscaping for the upgrade of the northern section of the Nordbahn railway line.
The upgrade of the Nordbahn between Vienna Süßenbrunn and the state border with the Czech Republic near Bernhardsthal includes the modernization of around 66 kilometers of track, most of which will be completed without interrupting rail operations. The northern section stretches from Gänserndorf to the state border at Bernhardsthal and touches sensitive natural areas of the March-Thaya floodplains and the Pannonikum.
The tasks of the BERNARD Gruppe include environmental construction monitoring for the specialist areas of ecology, forestry and aquatic ecology, landscape conservation planning, and local site supervision for landscaping measures. The aim is to minimize the impact on nature and the landscape during the construction phase, ensure species protection and guarantee the implementation of effective compensatory measures.
With this project, the BERNARD Gruppe is emphasizing its commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly infrastructure projects.
