Optimization of traffic light systems through AI: Research project “KISLEK”
The BERNARD Gruppe presented the “KISLEK” research project at the seminar held by VSVI (German association of road and traffic engineers). Together with the Fraunhofer Institute in Lemgo, we are investigating how reinforcement learning can optimize the control of traffic light systems. In Bremerhaven, three traffic light systems are being analyzed and AI-supported control systems compared with conventional methods. The aim is a more efficient traffic management. The findings from the project will contribute to the further development of smart traffic management systems. By cooperating closely with research partners, innovative solutions are being created for the mobility of the future.
