At its meeting on December 16, 2024, the Deggendorf city council approved the transport master plan drawn up by the BERNARD Gruppe by a majority vote.
After several years of work and coordination, a strategic element for municipal decisions in the area of mobility and transportation is now available. The transport master plan addresses all modes of transport and is intended to contribute to a demand-oriented transport development for all citizens.
Based on the analysis, the forecast and the results of the participations, transport measures were developed to achieve previously defined key objectives. The transport master plan shows various development scenarios. Their traffic impacts were examined by means of a traffic model. The measures to be pursued were transferred to an implementation concept. In addition to carrying out basic services such as traffic surveys, household surveys, analyses, forecasts and the development of a traffic model, the BERNARD Gruppe managed the entire project management and coordination process. At present, work is underway on the urban cycling concept.
