The BERNARD Gruppe was commissioned by the city of Leipzig to carry out a traffic study in the Reudnitz-Thonberg district. The aim of the study is to determine the internal and external traffic development of a new project area.

In the district of Reudnitz-Thonberg, a 2.15-hectare project area will be redesigned in line with urban development requirements, built up, and dovetailed with the surrounding urban space. Different scenarios for connecting the area to the existing road network need to be considered and their suitability will be examined. The traffic routing in the area and in the adjacent streets will also be reviewed. The aim is to achieve low traffic volumes and high amenity values within the area.

In the commissioned study, the impact of the project area on traffic will be assessed, and the measures required to make the area accessible to cyclists, pedestrians, public transport, and motor vehicles will be identified.
