The BERNARD Gruppe is planning the Fritzens-Wattens station on behalf of ÖBB. The contract includes the design of the railway route, structural engineering and design, as well as overall coordination during all planning phases.
The conversion is aimed at turning the station into a modern multimodal transportation hub. A parking deck with an integrated bus terminal and bicycle parking facilities will be built to link all the transportation modules. In addition to creating an attractive local connection for pedestrians and cyclists, it is also planned to integrate the station into the surrounding traffic routes. In future, the platforms will be accessible via elevators. For railway traffic, the allowed maximum speed will be increased on both main and side tracks and the usable length of the side tracks will be extended.
The BERNARD Gruppe’s services include the planning of the track bed and the nearby infrastructure as well as the structural engineering and design of the Bärenbach bridge, the Auweg bridge, and of retaining walls. The BERNARD Gruppe has also carried out noise and vibration tests.
As project coordinator, it is our job to coordinate the specialist teams, including those in charge of track systems and platforms, bridges, and walls, of the parking deck, of the architectural design, electrical engineering planning with signal and overhead line planning, geotechnical, and waste engineering.
