The BERNARD Gruppe was commissioned by eww ag to plan the renewal of the 110 kV cable connection between the Puchberg and Wels Nord substations.

The eww Group is the energy supplier of the city of Wels and operates throughout Austria in the fields of photovoltaics, electromobility and lighting systems, among others. It intends to renew the 110 kV cable connection between the Puchberg and Wels Nord substations. The cable system is operated permanently in the ring system and is essential for the n-1 criterion in the 110 kV grid of eww ag. The existing cable is designed as an oil cable, has a limited transmission capacity and is also at its limit in terms of age, which is why the cable system needs to be replaced. The new cable should be laid while the existing cable is in operation and the downtime when switching to the new cable system should be kept as short as possible.

The BERNARD Gruppe’s planning services include project preparation, basic evaluation, final design, detailed design, permit application design, and execution design, as well as the preparation of documents for tenders and official procedures.
