In the coming years, ÖBB-Infrastruktur AG intends to expand the “Neue Unterinntalbahn” railway in Tyrol in line with demand. To this end, the approximately 40 km long railway section in the Tyrolean lowlands is being upgraded to four tracks. In future, large parts of the extended line will run underground.

In addition to the enormous structural and economic challenges, the project will also require the responsible and foresighted handling of the large quantities of excavated material that will be produced. Reliable concepts will be needed for the generation, transportation, and processing of the material, as well as for its value-adding reuse.

In this project, the BERNARD Gruppe will be responsible for the overall survey, analysis, and control of material flows of the project-specific subsoil, as well as for the project planning of a total of five landfill sites in the immediate project environment.
