The BERNARD Gruppe was commissioned to plan an optimized traffic control system as part of the Connected Mobility Essen project. The project aims at driving forward the digitalization of transport and manage it in an environmentally friendly way in the future. To this end, intelligent sensor technology for recording the traffic and environmental situation and a powerful database for analysis will be used.

The BERNARD Gruppe will optimize the existing junction geometries at selected traffic light systems, design the future signal programs, including possible scenarios, and it will plan measures to improve the green wave with public transport priority, as well as traffic flow.
