The BERNARD Gruppe was commissioned by ASFINAG, the Austrian motorway company, with the ecology sub-project in the course of a safety upgrade for the section Göllersdorf – Großstelzendorf of the S3 express highway “Weinviertler Schnellstrasse”.
The safety upgrade includes the construction of a median separation on the S3 main route, the safety upgrade of an acceleration lane and a deceleration lane at Göllersdorf junction, as well as the general renewal of the existing structure including the adaptation of existing noise protection structures. The consumption of natural soil will be reduced to a minimum. At the same time, drainage will be adapted to the state of the art so that the additional pollution of water bodies by surface water containing chloride will be significantly alleviated.
The planning activities of the BERNARD Gruppe include the preparation of the planning approval documents for the environmental impact assessment, the mapping of plant and animal habitats as well as the preparation of nature conservation permit application documents.
