The BERNARD Gruppe was asked by DB Netz AG to carry out the design for the renewal of a total of five railroad overpasses in Rhineland-Palatinate.

Four of the five new bridge structures will be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2023 and the railway sections will be passable again. At the Jahnstraße overpass in the municipality of Erpel, the new bridge was built nearby, off alignment, and construction work did not affect the operation of the railroad. The completed overall structure was brought into its final position, backfilled and put into operation by moving it into place in the course of a railway closure lasting several days. Final work such as road construction and revegetation work will follow.

The services provided by the BERNARD Gruppe included preliminary design, final and permit application design, execution design as well as the preparation of the tender documents.
