The BERNARD Gruppe is supporting the German Institute for Tourism Research (FH Westküste University of Applied Sciences) and its research partners to contribute to sustainable tourism development by regulating visitor flows.
The BERNARD Gruppe will provide the data basis for the research project “AI-based recommender for sustainable tourism (AIR)” funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV).
By installing sensor technology, different capacity scenarios can be modeled and forecast. Among other things, traffic congestion at travel and excursion destinations can be analyzed. Our in-house developed BERNARD Mobility Analyser will be used to record stationary and moving traffic, as well non-motorized road users, thus providing the data basis for these analyses. The collected data will be transmitted in real time via an interface to the data platform of the partners of the research team.
