Based on the traffic study of the traffic flow in Füssen and Schwangau that has already been carried out, the BERNARD Gruppe is now planning the implementation of the measures that have been developed. This concerns in particular the central networking of the individual traffic light systems and the use of dynamic traffic information boards.
The roads in Füssen and Schwangau are often congested. This results on the one hand from closures or block clearance on the A7 motorway, but also from tourist traffic. In order to improve traffic flow, the individual traffic signal systems are now to be networked via a traffic signal control centre, commonly referred to as a traffic computer. In addition to optimizing the local controls of the traffic signal systems, strategic detectors are to be used to identify special congestion conditions. In these cases, the traffic computer switches coordinated signal programs at all light signal systems that are optimally adapted to the traffic volume in the network. In this way, traffic flow can be optimised and congestion, emissions and noise reduced. In addition, dynamic traffic information boards with travel time displays are planned in order to direct through traffic via the bypass as far as possible instead of via Kemptener street, which is to be relieved by this measure.
