The VERBUND Hydro Power GmbH operates the Zemm-Ziller power plant group in the Ziller Valley in Tyrol, Austria. The power plant group is one of the country’s most powerful storage power plant groups. The BERNARD Gruppe has been commissioned with the services of local site supervision and construction work coordination.

The power plants are automated and are monitored and remotely operated from the central control station in Mayrhofen in the Ziller Valley. The 25 kV cable connection between the power plant Mayrhofen and the power plant Häusling is part of the extensive 6/25 kV power plant grid of the VERBUND plant group. The aim and object of this project is the renewal of the 25 kV cable connection between the two power plants, which is necessary for the auxiliary power supply. The cable section will be realized in 2020.

All sections along the cable route from the power plant Mayrhofen to the power plant Häusling will be renewed, and the cables shall principally be laid underground. An exception is the section from the power plant Mayrhofen to the final guying point Oberkumbichl, which runs in a cable duct (approx. 1.6 km – concrete structure / collector) and where the cables will be fastened to the existing reinforced concrete surface by means of cable clamps. The total length of the line is about 10,650 meters.
